Shinden QuickBooks Connector · Effective September 30, 2026
This policy explains how 1373223 B.C. Ltd. ("Shinden", "we", "us") handles information accessed through the Shinden QuickBooks Connector (the "App"). The App is an internal tool built and used by Shinden to view its own QuickBooks Online accounting data. It is not offered, sold or distributed to the public.
When an authorized Shinden user connects the App to a QuickBooks Online company, the App can read, using Intuit's QuickBooks Online Accounting API:
company information (name, address, country, fiscal year settings);
customer records (names, company names, contact details, billing addresses, balances);
transactions such as invoices, payments, estimates and credit memos, including line items and sales tax;
financial reports such as accounts receivable aging, customer balances, sales and profit and loss.
The App is read-only. It does not create, change or delete any data in QuickBooks Online. It does not access bank credentials, payment card data or QuickBooks Payments information.
We use this information only to answer questions from authorized Shinden staff about our own invoices, customers, billing and receivables. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell, rent or trade it.
Local computer. The App runs on a computer controlled by Shinden. The OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by Intuit, and the App's credentials, are stored in local files on that computer. QuickBooks data is fetched when a request is made and is not kept in a separate database.
Intuit. Data is retrieved directly from Intuit's servers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Intuit's handling of your data is governed by the Intuit Global Privacy Statement.
AI assistant. The App gives Anthropic's Claude AI assistant access to the data described above, so staff can ask questions in plain language. When a question is asked, the relevant QuickBooks results are sent to Anthropic for processing under Shinden's Anthropic account and are subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy and commercial terms. Such data may be processed outside Canada.
We do not share information obtained through the App with anyone other than the service providers named above (Intuit and Anthropic). The only exceptions are when the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.
We limit use of the App to authorized Shinden personnel, keep credentials and tokens on access-controlled computers, use encrypted connections to Intuit, and request only the QuickBooks Accounting permission the App needs. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information.
Access tokens expire automatically and are renewed only while the App is in use. The App can be disconnected at any time from within QuickBooks Online (Settings → Apps). Disconnecting revokes the App's access, and we then delete the locally stored tokens.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. Individuals whose personal information appears in our records, such as customer contacts, may ask to access or correct it, or ask questions about how it is handled, by contacting us below.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
